What is WebDesk?

The WebDesk Business platform is a Project Management and Cost Analysis tool, enabling your business to quickly and accurately budget and plan your projects, track progress and monitor costs as they occur.

Developed in partnership and now on the 3rd version, the platform provides useful, stable tools without the clutter often found with other systems, with huge potential for expansion.

Once you start a project you have the tools to manage your supplier costs and track employee times, giving you an up-to-date overview of the status of any given job and enabling you to react to cost issues before they become a problem. With PO and invoice tracking, you can always be on top of your costs and business acivities.

WebDesk is designed for businesses and individuals who create custom quotations for customers and who need a central platform to manage their day-to-day planning and cost activities. For freelancers and small businesses this package can be a lifeline - enabling you to work to processes and removing the need to have an accountant on hand all day!

WebDesk allows you to build budgets, send professional looking Estimates, provides tools to raise Purchase Orders for your suppliers and verify payment when the bills come in.

Using the Price List and Roster Tools, you can associate specific suppliers and even assign an agreed rate - so you can create budgets without having to keep looking up those names and rates. Just select an appropriate supplier and the system will do the rest for you.

Need special discouted rates for those big clients? You can store those too so you never forget what to charge!

Standard Mode Each section is loaded within a single page, with a menu bar always visible at the top giving access to all the available sections.	Virtual Desktop Mode * (Currently IE 8 Only) A virtual desktop providing multiple windows, resizing and popups - all within the browsers window. Ideal for power users without cluttering your PC's desktop*
Standard Employee Homepage. Customizable to show the information you wish. The Menu Bar at the top is visible on every page, giving access to all the core elements of the system	The Virtual Desktop shows each page or section as icons. Windows are managed automatically, ensuring that if you click the same item twice, you dont end up with duplicate windows open.
The Active Estimate List Screen. Shows a summary of all projects, costs and profits with result filters and searching	Exactly the same as the Classic Page, but loaded within a window.
Editing an Estimate's Budget - using pure Ajax row editing for speed on the most commonly used page.	With Virtual Desktop, when you edit an item a new window will open, allowing you to have multiple estimates open at once

* Virtual Desktop is a Proof-of-Concept plugin to WebDesk - available free to anyone who will give genuine feedback during the Trial Stages of WebDesk. The current build of the Virtual Desktop plugin has not been optimized and can use a lot of memory when many windows are open. It is only recommended for use on Windows PC's with Internet Explorer 8/9, with at least 256Mb of free memory and a 2Ghz dual-core processor. For more information please get in touch.
