So how does it work?
WebDesk provides you with a complete set of tools allowing you to setup your business, manage your price lists, register employees and suppliers, manage security and allocate specific agreed rates for any given supplier or partner.
With all this information WebDesk can allow your Project Managers to build accurate budgets and manage the costs of a project, all within a single application.
Budgets and Planning - What do I get?
With the new Budget creation tool, you can quickly build up estimates for your clients, using your price list and supplier list. Because the system allows you to allocate specific agreed rates, you can be sure that only the suppliers you want to use for a particular activity are shown, and that the agreed rates are automatically inserted.
Using the tool provides the following benefits:
- Quickly create an estimate for your client, using predefined items or creating your own.
- Ensures your estimates and pricing are consistent.
- Apply discounts to items and track which clients receive the most discounts.
- Instantly see the profitability of each line item
- Allows your Project Managers to quickly build an estimate without having to look up the prices or supplier rates every time.
- Allows you to copy a previous budget or specific items within a previous job, saving time.
- Provides full Profit and Margin figures for the entire project.
I have created a Budget - what now?
Once you have created your budget you can see exactly what profit you plan to make. With the click of a button, you can instantly send an Estimate in PDF format to your client. Once your client agrees, you hit the "Create Job" button.
Your Live Project
When you start a new job the administration of it is simple. At the click of a button, you can instantly send the required Purchase Orders to your suppliers with no duplication and no double entry.
A Project Schedule and Contact List is produced for your job, allowing you and your staff to see exactly who they are working with, and how much time they have.
With your employees able to log the time spent on a project you can monitor the progress of a job, but more importantly keep an eye on those internal costs and make sure you don't overrun.
Can I customize it? - What else can I do?
The WebDesk platform has been built to be modular - enabling you to add new features specific to your business, or choose from a wide range of add-on packages already developed.
The platform also allows you to brand the system to match your business. With a detailed "skin" system, you can customize colours, fonts, even positioning of items on the page!
There are many modules in the development stage, ranging from CRM systems, graphical reporting, Client Portals and File Sharing. All these are coming soon and will be available to any WebDesk user.
